Sport
is movement. Understanding that movement transcends all sports
and that speed is one of the most valuable qualities an athlete
can possess, Speed In Sports has developed a comprehensive
training program
offering the cutting edge of athletic performance enhancement
and
most efficient methodology, along
with an emphasis on injury prevention and regeneration.
Our
philosophy is to train in similar to real game situations.
Sports are played under high intensity/short duration conditions.
|
Using our principle, specific metabolic pathways are targeted
for the development of power and speed for sprint-related sports.
We accomplish the goal of playing fast by incorporating a series
of high intensity/short duration exercises designed to stimulate
the lactic acid and phosphagen system functions.
Our
program develops the neuromuscular system educating the muscles
and nerves not only on how to move, but how fast to move.
The concept behind this is to train the body beyond its normal
capacity, allowing the athlete to get the most out of training.
By forcing additional fast twitch fibers to activate during
training we make it easier for athletes to overcome the inertial
force of gravity and move faster then ever before.
While
educating the brain and muscles to move faster we are creating
a neuromuscular response to fear, better known as adrenaline
in sports, this trains the body to increase the speed in which
it moves, reacts, and recovers.
By
offering specific programs designed to get specific results
and training athletes beyond what they have already done,
we stimulate growth in their athletic performance. The success
of speed is not fate, luck or even a gift of genetics; speed
is a skill and like any skill it can be acquired or improved
through means of careful planning, and intense training. "Speed
is similar to human intelligence, it is invisible until it
has been developed." (Kevin O'Donnell, Speed Dynamics)
